Cleaning the Fuse 1’s air filters
This article applies to Fuse 1 Generation
The Fuse 1 contains two filters: an intake filter and an exhaust filter.
The intake filter keeps the air within the print enclosure free of contaminants that may adversely affect print quality.
Both the filters and surrounding components should be cleaned frequently to prevent print failures.
The rate of cleaning is dependent on the age of the filter:
- Both the intake and exhaust filters should be cleaned after every one to two full build volume prints or 30 hours of printing, whichever comes first.
- Purge the exhaust line after 10–15 full build volume prints or 500 hours of printing, whichever comes first, to remove blockages.
- Cleaning the exhaust fan after laurolactam buildup
- Old filters that have experienced 2400 hours of printing should be replaced.
Cleaning the air filter system on the Fuse 1 consists of three different tasks:
- Cleaning the exhaust filter
- Purging the exhaust line
- Cleaning the exhaust fan and exhaust tube
- Cleaning the intake filter
